Straighteners for Short Hair

Size actually does matter in a straightener, and the length and width of the plates depend on your hair type and texture. For short hair that is thin or fine, use a 1 or 1.5 inch straightener; for normal or straight short hair, you can choose the same size, and for course, thick or curly short hair the ideal size would be 1.5 inches. Your hair naturally contains positive charges that spread out with the movement of the strands, opening the hair cuticles and resulting in frizz, flyaways and difficult to style hair. With a good quality straightener, you can obtain negative ions to neutralize the positive charges, smooth the hair shaft, close the cuticles and reduce frizz. How to properly style short hair with a straightener? Follow these steps:

·         Wash your hair and condition well, then use a smoothing product. This works very well for chic and sleek bobs.

·         Use your fingers to comb your hair from root to tip while gently blow drying on a low setting.

·         Wish a brush and a blow dryer with nozzle attached, pull the hair outwards from your head and hold it taut. Point the blow dryer downwards onto the hair until that section is dry and continue with another section in the same way.

·         Gently comb your hair to eliminate tangles, then take your straightener and clamp it near to the roots. Move it down in a swift motion for a sleek effect. Finish with shine spray.
