How often do you straighten your hair? Do you do it so much that you don’t even have to think about what you are doing anymore?
Although there are some people out there that know how to straighten their hair without any problems, most people don’t and that is why I want to share some tips with you.
The first thing you need to understand before I get to the best hair straightening tips is that you have to get yourself a good hair straightener. Most people simply buy the cheap things they see at their local Target or Wal-Mart stores but those are not the best things to get. What I would highly recommend is that you buy your hair straightener online because that is where you will get the best of the best.
Tips To Straightening Hair
Dry hair completely – The very first tip is to make sure your hair is completely dry before you straighten it. The reason why you need completely dry hair is because it will straighten much better and it will hold for a lot longer. What you need to understand is that you should never try to straighten your hair right when you get out of the shower, you need to wait at least an hour for some of the moisture to leave your hair. You can use a hair dryer by in my experience you hair will look better by air drying it.
Brush hair first – Another tip is to brush your hair first. Most people think they can brush their hair after they straighten it and you can but I would recommend doing it before. The reason for this is because tangled hair looks funny when it is straight and you don’t want to look funny, do you?
Slow strokes – If you are in a hurry your hair will not come out right, you need to take your time. What I recommend is that you do long slow strokes so that there is enough heat transferred to your hair from the hair straightener. Trust me, slow strokes always works better than fast ones.
The last thing that you need to understand is that these tips should be used every time. Don’t think that you can skip over on certain things every once in a while because you can’t. If you try to skip certain steps then your hair is going to suffer because of it. Trust me on this one.
