Comparing with the Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana is a relatively young name in the fashion industry. Nevertheless, it has enjoyed great reputation during its short time. Their founders, Demonico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are known for making “stars look like stars”. A lot of celebrities, such as Isabella Rossellini, Demi Moore, Nicole Kidman and Madonna, are their customers for their sexy styles.

Demonico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are partners both in life and business. The two Italians together combined their talents in 1982. In October, 1985 they first raised the trademark Dolce & Gabbana on the occasion of the fashion show at the Milano Collezioni and then in 1986 they had first self-produced collection and first fashion show “real woman”. From that on, Dolce & Gabbana expanded and their clothes appeared in cities such as Tokyo, New York. 1980s for Dolce & Gabbna is a period as when the flood gated opened.

The event promoting it to the top of fashion world was that in 1993 Dolce & Gabbana designed 1500 costumes for Madonna’s world tour of “The Girlie Show”. In the same year, "Dolce & Gabbana Parfum" fragrance was awarded the international prize as the best feminine fragrance of the year, by the Perfume Academy, which brought them even more recognition than they expected. And then in 1996, for the first time the French “Oscar des Parfums” Award was given to an Italian fragrance, “Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme”.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, the designers maintained their focus on fun, sexy clothes for men and women, featuring animal prints, vibrant colors, high-tech and experimental fabrics, and innerwear-inspired items. In 2000, Dolce & Gabbana and Madonna cooperated once again together for a successful event to celebrate Madonna's latest album "Music", the designers have created not only her wardrobe but also a total environment, transforming New York's legendary Roseland Ballroom and London’s Brixton Academy in a cyberranch.

Today although it is a pity that they cannot continue their legendary love, their business, Dolce & Gabanna has achieved noteworthy success in fashion world.
