For a while already the peekaboo bra trend has been a celeb favorite. But if until now it has been for the Pink's of the world it has now become for the Lea Michele's of the world as well. And from that to us on the streets. The fall/winter trend of 2010-2011--The Peekaboo Bralette look.
Frederick's here we come!
Support-less bralette's are enjoying quite a boost in sales this fall/winter, says Alex Snow, who, among other things, heads merchandising and marketing for lingerie giant NotJustYet.com the Daily Mail reports. But not for the reasons you would've thought.
''In the past bralettes were confined just to the bedroom for play or as training bras due to their non-support build. says Snow. ''But in the past few months, it has gone from celeb only to day-to-day fashion as well. There has been a huge surge in their sales. Women are now wearing them visibly under low-neckline sweaters, to under boyfriend blazers and oversized tanks''.
We're sure trendsetters like Katy Perry will take the chance to fashion these lacy things anytime.
As we previously reported, stars like Perry, Rihanna, Lea Michele and more have been seen out and about with their peekabooing bralettes, while even pop diva Kylie Minogue has been rocking the sexy boudoir bra.
Other large lingerie retailers like Frederick's of Hollywood and Figleaves.com have also reported sharp increases in bralette sales for wearing as outerwear, in the past few months, according to the paper.
Of course, one celeb by the name of Mother Nature may also be playing a part.
"The winter of 2010 that has been apparently mixed with summer up until now has given women the urge to maximize the benefits of summer till the last second'' says Snow.
And did we mention that they make a great hiding spot for your dollar bills!
So go on and flash those things of yours. But maybe lay off the minis for a while (don't want to be giving the wrong impression).
