Arguments often start with (usually) the girl giving him the silent treatment and the guy having no clue why she is upset. After a while she will finally let him have the facts about being annoyed that he had lunch with the new girl at work,What women hate about men. Articles or is still consoling his ex about her personal problems - sound familiar?

Point being, men are usually pretty clueless as to what sets women off, so we decided to piece together some advice for couples as to what men often do to annoy their other halves. So listen up guys, and you'll go along way in attracting the type of woman you want to meet, or stop annoying the one you already have.

Pain in the ....!

Picking up your mess and leaving a trail of destruction. The odd finished beer can or your jacket being left out is fine, but constantly having to nag day after day, as the mess begins to grow, starts to grate on any relationship. The very last thing you want to do is have your girl start sounding like your mum. Solution? Clean up your mess, it's pretty simple stuff. Imagine if all the conflicts of the world could be solved so easily.

The bathroom is her sanctuary.

Have the decency not to leave your toe nail clippings in the sink, or your pubic hairs on her body soap. Wipe your willy after you wee, so she doesn't end up standing on the dregs of your urine droplets on the floor. Put the toilet seat down, leaving the lid up is just fine though.

Financial matters.

Men often question and comment on the over priced shoes, or hair do women treat themselves to, but rarely draw a parallel to the $300 they just blew at the race track. Until there is a genuine financial agreement or sharing of bank accounts, questioning her spending habits is really not on. A good compromise could be that you both put aside $30-$40 each per week and save up for a holiday together.

Talking to her like she's one of the blokes.

If you are trying to prove to her that you have a romantic bone left in your body, don't address her as "mate" or by her surname. This is bringing her to the level of friendship. Girls don't care about how much you can bench press or how your footy team got creamed on the weekend or how many shots of vodka you downed last Friday night. Find some common ground in your conversations that include her.

What does the future hold.

Men are very good at addressing issues regarding the future that causes confusion as to whether she is part of any future with him. It's like they keep their options open until the very last minute. Gemma, who is a member of our online dating site wrote in to tell us that her ex boyfriend "would make a habit of mentioning that he received an invitation to a party or a mates wedding, but would hold off inviting me until the last minute". This kind of behavior doesn't do alot for her faith in the stability of the relationship.

Never stop trying.

Getting married or committing to a relationship is often a signal for him to stop trying to impress her, or perhaps taking her for granted might by another way she could look at this. Continue to make the effort with sex, take her out once a week for dinner, combined with a bunch of flowers now and then and show her your still into her - which she needs to know.
