According to one market analyst,Amazon Kindle Sales Still Going Strong Articles Amazon has sold more than 4 million Kindle Fire devices and 12 million Kindle e-readers in total during the 2011 year. There have been some worries about Amazons profit margins, as they were selling the Kindle Fire at a lower price than expected in an effort to gain more sales during the busy holiday season. With the launch of the Kindle Fire, which supports multimedia features such as audio, video and various apps, in addition to just letting users purchase eBooks such as romance booksonline, some are predicting that Amazon is trying to solidify its place in the online content distribution market. The company already has the infrastructure for it, offering cloud hosting solutions which are used by plenty of independent websites to distribute content. While electronic books have been responsible for producing a large amount of sales for Amazon, it now appears that the company is attempting to diversify its revenue streams from the online sales of content and may be working with other companies to deliver more to Kindle Fire users. Its expected that in the future, users of the device may have the possibility to view movies, watch TV shows, as well as use a wide range of apps such as business tools and games on their devices.Other e-reader manufacturers, such as the Kobo or the Sony Reader are expected to follow suit so as not to be left behind.Even though the Amazon Kindle Fire is now in the lead with sales of e-readers, there is some speculation among market analysts that its competitors are doing everything that they can in order to catch up.While Amazon has the Kindle Store, which is an extensive collection of eBooks, such as independently written Erotic Books , or even electronic versions of international best sellers, competitors are also trying to get more books into their eBook stores to make them more attractive to readers. It is not yet known whether Amazon will be able to stay in the lead in the e-reader marketplace for a long time, however one thing that is certain is that they will be developing new ways to attract buyers to their platform, especially by including some more multimedia content as part of their offerings.
