1. What's a galley copy?

A galley copy is a preview of the book...it is not for re-sale and has grammar and other errors in the book. Galley copies should not be re-sold because they aren't the real deal.

2. Why might I see/find a galley copy?

It's part of Laura's presentation on her book. Galley copies are given out at presentations for kids to show them how the book is going to turn out and also shows kids the changes made to the galley book for the finished product. They are no way, shape or form intended for re-sell...only show.

Galley copies are also sent to book reviewers with a note stating that the copy they have is a galley and that the finish product does not contain the same mistakes as the copy they have. Sometimes a reviewer may forget that this is the case and a review may contain information that the book needs editing. Rest assure the finish product is edited correctly.

3. How can I tell if I have a galley copy vs the real deal of Mysterious Chills and Thrills?

Galley copies say "Galley copy only", "Gallery copy only" "Galley only copy" or "Gallery only copy." There's no table of contents. Also...there is no autograph in the book. If the front title page is missing...most likely it's a galley. The galley copies have a glossy book cover, and the real deal versions do not.

If you do find a galley copy from a friend, relative, etc..., please inform them that the copy is not for re-sell. If someone sold you a galley, it would be in the best interest to get a refund especially if you paid more than the actual cost of the real Mysterious Chills and Thrills.
