How to take a day off?! 2004-08-30

Every beginning webmaster’s dream is to have a successful website right off the bat. This successful site would enable us to pay the bills,Do You Need A Day Off? Six Great Ideas! 2004-08-30 Articles feed the kids, and then pay for that dream get-away or high-ticket item we set up as a benefit of our financial goals. But every webmaster knows that to have a successful website, it is a commitment that knows no other. The love affair between the perfectly laid out front-page and the total disregard for time and proper rest, begets the most fundamental laws of logic. How can a human being survive on two hours of sleep? How can a human being remember so many passwords and IDs? How can a human being convince somebody to buy something, when every thing you say has already been said? Logic rests that you will become like all of the other mediocre webmasters unless you can find one attribute that sets you apart from the rest.

How can a stay-at-home webmaster even think about competing with the corporate web machines?

Basically, you buy a laptop computer with wireless internet capabilities, attach it to your lap, and then build and promote your website(s) twenty-two hours a day; that leaves approximately 2 hours for proper rest, nutrition, and family inter-action. This webmaster schedule is not a joke. It happens to millions of us, every day! Seven days a week! Inside is this tremendous feeling that if you take one day off from promoting your website, then the traffic you build will come to a halt, sales will fall, and the bills do not get paid. Every World Wide Web Entrepreneur has had to have had this feeling before.

How can a stay-at-home webmaster even think straight after the endless hours of endless hours?

I believe that most webmasters could relieve some of the stress from the day-in and day-out promotion of a website, if they could learn to take a day off. With the so-called luxury of working from a home office, sometimes it is hard to not work every day—albeit some workday hours are longer than others; therefore, it seems logical that the stay-at-home business person really needs to schedule a day during the week in which the person stays completely away from the building or promotion of their websites. You always dreamed of having a website goliath that runs on auto-pilot 24/7, well, now is the chance to learn what it feels like to trust your work and let your website work for you for one day. This time away from the computer doing other things can possibly lead you to a new direction or exciting idea to add to your website, TOMORROW!

Here are a few ideas of things to do on your scheduled day off:

•Convince your child to hold a worm for the first time.

•Go to the mall with your family or another person.

•Go to a park and watch other people walking their dogs.

•Volunteer your time to a cause greater than yourself.

•Tell every person you come in contact with to ‘Have a Great Day!’

•Just do something that does not involve computers!
