Whether economic times are good or bad,Differences Between AdSense and Affiliate Programs Articles most people are looking to make more money. Check that – not only more money, but more money that requires the least amount of effort as well. Now isn’t that the American (and I wager, the world’s) dream? The Internet remains a place to make the most of your invested time, and it is fraught with ways in which to do so. A simple search will show the viewer a myriad of experts, all touting the new and best way to make a lot of money “quicker than ever” by following their simple advice, using their unique tricks, and of course, purchasing their book for $19.95. Two plans that seem to often rise to the top when searching the Net are Google’s AdSense campaign and countless affiliate marketing programs. Taking a look at these two options, you can perhaps decide if either one is right for you.

AdSense is definitely the easiest to get up and running; with little time invested, you can start getting paid on a CPC (cost-per-click) plan whenever a website visitor clicks on an AdSense advertisement you placed. You must be familiar with some code writing in order to get your website up and running, but Google will provide the code for embedding their advertisements. Now, as always: the catch. You do have to have an extremely large amount of traffic coming through your site in order for this to be a viable source of income. Google doesn’t let you know the exact percentage of revenue that they’re sharing with you, but ask anyone involved in AdSense, and they’ll tell you it is pretty low. This means your numbers need to be very high in order to make it worth your while. Again, if this is merely supplemental and a side business for revenue, it could work perfectly, as little time and effort is involved, assuredly.

For a higher amount of time investment, a higher return is usually offered by becoming a member of a reputable affiliate program. You will still be adding code to your website, but most programs offer you more choices as far as the ads you place. It always makes sense to place an advertisement for a product or service that you have used, have knowledge of, or believe in, because endorsements and reviews are extremely helpful ways in which to help promote a product. The commissions vary from program to program, but are for the most part, higher than those offered in the Google program. More maintenance will be required, but more money could stand to be made. These are all important things to consider before jumping feet first into the exciting, but sometimes confusing world of Internet marketing.
