Everyone who is successful online started off as a beginner so the fact that you don't understand everything there is to know about making money online shouldn't put you off trying to learn.

You have to train to succeed online and there are beginners today who will be the millionaires of tomorrow. You could be one of them.

I spend most of my time as an affiliate marketer, selling companies products for a commission and if you are wondering what direction to take with your online venture I would recommend this one. It costs nothing to start and the profits can be excellent.

So what about the tips for beginners? Here's a few that make a big difference.

Understand that this is a business

All businesses need careful planning and work if they are to have any chance of success. Internet marketing is no different. Although you can begin without spending any money your real asset is your time. Don't waste it. You must become focused and stick to you plan if you are to have any chance of success.

Research your market

Don't just jump in at the deep end. There are a lot of sharks that will gobble you up. You need to work in small dedicated niches to start with. You must gain experience not only in the market but in the methods you use to become successful in them.

Don't give up

This is the reason 99% of people fail. They attempt something, put in a short period of work and sit back expecting to make money. When it doesn't happen they decide the whole business is useless and give up or worse start chasing the overnight riches junk and lose more money.

The secret, if there really is a secret, to everything in life is knowing what your are doing. No one can expect to pick up a violin and start to play like a concert soloist after a few weeks practice. To be good at anything takes long hours of practice and learning.

An online internet business is just the same. Unless you are extremely lucky, you will need to learn all the proven methods and techniques and then put them into practice time and time again before you see the checks coming in, but come in they will if you stick at it and it wont take as long as learning the violin!

When I first started my affiliate marketing business I didn't know what I was doing, just like everyone else. Only by spending a lot of time reading and experimenting did it eventually start to come together. It took me quite some months before I got the hang of things but maybe I'm just a bit slow. I sure am glad that even when things didn't work out at the start I never considered giving up.
