A jeep isn’t just for driving to work every day or picking up groceries at the store. No,5 Things To Do In A Jeep Articles this SUV has lots more to offer than the average car. Motorists who select this mode of transportation are not usually the sedate accountant who does your taxes unless, of course, the CPA has a split personality – one side a meticulous number cruncher, the other a rip-roaring adventure lover. Jeeps are made by Chrysler and have a long history behind them. They were originally designed to be combat vehicles back in World War II. United States soldiers and European military personnel drove them into the battlefields. This vehicle was also the first off-road civilian product available to the public. Current models include popular Wranglers, Cherokees, Patriots, Compasses, Liberties and jeep-trucks. These rugged products are so well loved that their owners often form or join clubs in order to have off-road adventures together. There are Jeeper clubs around the world in locations such as the Virgin Islands, Guam, Germany, Australia, Canada and Puerto Rico. There are civilian groups and military clubs for soldiers or vets. Here are 5 things to do in a jeep:

1) Climb a mountain: Because of its narrow body, high clearance, substantial traction and amazing suspension, these SUVs can zoom over rocks, uneven surfaces and bumps galore. Think your Pontiac sedan could travel up a mountain? Not without a paved road, it couldn’t. For climbing mountains, a jeep is the vehicle to use.

2) Go to a jamboree: Jeep jamborees are off-road adventures where a group of enthusiasts voyage across exciting and rugged terrain. These treks were originated back in 1953 by a man named Mark A. Smith. Smith is still trekking today and is going to release his “Top 10” trek list this summer. The first jamboree group traveled through the Sierra Nevada Mountains along the Rubicon Trail back in the fifties.

3) Go camping: Who needs to travel the freeways to a boring campground with toilets, showers and rules? With a 4x4 vehicle, a person’s imagination and compass are his or her only limits. Traveling across rocks, sticks and unexplored terrain can lead to a private spot to pitch one’s tent. Who needs noisy neighbors like back in the city?

4) Hang out with like-minded individuals: Joining a club to adventure around with can be downright fun. Men and women form groups in order to hunt, fish and explore the terrain together. Weekends can be lots more fun with a social group centered on jeeps.

5) Everyday life: Not only out-of-the-ordinary activities are possible with these SUVs. In order to fill the gas tank, the average motorist has to have a job, too. Jeeps are not only great for adventures; they’re also wonderful for traveling to work, picking up Junior after school, getting to the airport on time and more.

The jeep is a popular vehicle with men and women around the globe. They are appropriate for mountain climbing, jamboree trips, campouts, social gatherings and everyday life. The long history of this popular product keeps getting longer.
