2. The cover is inadequate: This is a nasty problem and one that highlights the importance of reading the terms and conditions before buying extended car warranty.

Car warranties can vary considerably from one company to the next. Spending time reading the small print may not be particularly exciting but it will ensure that you're aware of exactly what level of cover you are receiving.

3. The warranty becomes invalid: This typically occurs if the warranty provider deems that you have not looked after the vehicle correctly. For example, you may not have had the vehicle frequently serviced.

Once again, this is something that can be avoided by reading the policy terms and conditions before making the purchase. Make sure that you know exactly what is required of you.

The main car warranty issues can be avoided by doing your research, shopping around and making sure you know what's involved.
