George would not come to terms with the reality of his age. He refused to believe that he was no longer capable of doing things that he could when he was younger. So,Fixing Transmission Repair Issues Should be Left Up to Professionals Articles he had a fit when his family members tried to convince him that he was not capable to conducting his own transmission repair job.

"Grandpa, now we have let you slide with a lot of things, but this is where we must draw the line," said his granddaughter Stacey.

"Calm down child," he said. "It can't be that hard. All I have to do is look up the instructions and get Brandon to help me."

Brandon was George's eldest grandson. He was known as the do-it-yourself king. He was also the only one who co-signed all of his grandfather's makeshift endeavors.

Stacey shook her head and walked away. She wasn't just agitated but she was actually concerned, because she understood how difficult and important transmission repair could be. So, she decided to call Brandon to see if she could at least talk some sense into him.

"Brandon, this is serious," she said. "Please, tell me you are not going to allow him to try to do this on his own."

"Well, I don't see why not," Brandon said. "Nothing's too hard with a set of instructions and besides, I'll lend him a helping hand. It's just good to know he won't be throwing his money away to those crook mechanic shops."

A few days later George and Brandon began working on the transmission repair issue.
"I'm so glad I have you, Brandon," said George. "Everyone else thinks I'm crazy for doing this, but it can't possibly be that hard."

"You are absolutely right grandpa," he said. "Don't worry about what other people think. I've saved a ton load of money doing things on my own and this here project is no different."

After a few hours had passed with little progress, George began to regret his decision. However, he refused to tell Brandon. He didn't want him to think he had given in. Little did he know, Brandon was having some of the same thoughts.

When they finally finished the job, they both felt a big sigh of relief. They then decided to go for a test drive. For a few minutes the car seemed to be working just fine. Then, all of a sudden it began to slow down until it finally came to a halt. The good news was, they lived out in the middle of nowhere. So, there weren't many other cars around.

As they got out of the car, George looked over at Brandon, with a defeated look in his eyes.

"Grandpa, I just want you to know that if you take your car to a transmission repair service, I won't think any less of you," said Brandon.

George looked over at him and smiled as he picked up his cell phone and called the local mechanic.
