Ford Figo Car Specifications

Ford Figo was recently awarded as the Indian Car of the Year 2011, its becoming India's top automotive car in the competitive and rapidly growing terrain for small hatchback cars.

Ford Figo is the product of American giant automobile manufacturer Ford’s subsidiary Ford India Private Limited based out of Chennai. The organization operation was there in India for long time but the company didn’t achieve anything great, but firmly believes that Ford Figo will bring turning point to its business in India. This hatchback car is based on the platform of its successful subcompact car Ford Fiesta. Ford Figo was launched in 2010, March, but the model first debuted in New Delhi in 2009, September with attractive price tag that starts from 3.5 lacs to 6 lacs. The price is quite economical for this car and in its segment. Ford India deliberately quoted this price tag in order to compete with major brands like Tata, Hyundai and Maruti. This car is ideally designed for Indian traffic conditions and roads. With in eight variants, that come with both petrol and diesel versions, all the variants have only five speed manual transmission options.

The petrol engine has 1.2 L, 4-cylinder, 1196 cc, 16 valve DOHC Dura Tec petrol engine that can give the maximum power of 70 bhp at 6250 rpm and maximum torque of 102 Nm at 4000 rpm. The diesel variant has 4-cylinder, 1399 cc, 8 valves, SOHC diesel engine that can deliver 68 bhp maximum power at 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 160 Nm at 2000 rpm. Ford Figo has economy engine and people choose this model mainly for its engine feature. All the variants of Figo are subtle with IB5 gearbox.  The car length, width and height are 3795 mm, 1680 mm and 1427 mm respectively with a wheelbase of 2489 mm with the ground clearance of 168 mm.

Both petrol and diesel engines come with five speed gearbox that assure to give smooth driving performance and to deliver superb mileage. Ford Figo petrol engine has the capacity to give the mileage of 11 kmpl in city and 15 kmpl in highways and the diesel engine can give the mileage of 14 kmpl and 18 kmpl in city and highway respectively.

Ford Figo exterior has side panels with edges and sloping roofline and it also has air drum beneath the lower grille.. In D-pillar vertical tail lamps are mounted highly. Apart from that it comes with well-graven bonnet, distinguished headlamps, chamfered shaped rear windows, an integrated spoiler and so on. It also comes with body colored side mirrors and door handles. All these features make exterior attractive.

Ford Figo interior has ample of space that comes with classy ebony black theme or peppy Coral IP theme.  Apart from that, the interior also equipped with electric adjustable mirror, power windows, Bluetooth phone interface, central locking and remote boot opening and so on. As safety is concern, Figo is equipped with all the standard safety features like ABS+EBD, dual airbags, engine immobilizer, central locking and so on.
