Skoda Rapid will very soon be launched by the company as a popular entry level C-segment sedan car in India by the Czech based auto major, Skoda Auto targeting the masses. The car is expected to be launched during the most auspicious season in the Indian calendar. The company is looking to capitalize the festive mood and tempt customers into buying their car. This would be the first of sorts for the company in terms of an entry level sedan car for the Indian car market with launch of this popular new car model in a competitive price range. The Skoda Rapid, shaped similar to the Mission L will also have a host of features inspired from some of its other cousins like the Vento.

Skoda Rapid Price: With regard to the price of the Skoda Rapid there has been no official confirmation of the same but looking at the positioning of the car in the market and the features, it is expected to be at the range of Rs. 7.50 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh as per ex-showroom. This cost efficient C+ segment sedan is expected to compete with the likes of Volkswagen Vento, Tata Manza, Maruti SX4, Ford Figo, Tata Indigo and Hyundai Accent which have already had a successful run at the Indian markets for quite some time.

Skoda Rapid features and specifications: The car also has some decent stuff despite its low price. The car comes with a spate of high tech features. Some of the comfort features are power windows, powers steering, remote central locking, manual air conditioner, rear defogger, steering adjustment, height adjustable driver's seat, designer wheel covers, single DIN music system etc. On the safety front Skoda is offering high safety features like keyless entry, push-button start, folding rear seats, airbags, ABS and EBD in top-end model as standard.

Skoda Rapid engine and mileage: The car is expected to be available in both the petrol and diesel models and is expected to be fuel efficient as well along with being cost friendly. The gasoline engine of the car is equipped with a 1.6L, 1598cc, 4 Cylinder, 8 Valve that delivers a huge power of up to 105 Bhp and belts out a peak torque of 153 Nm.

The diesel cousin of the car comes with a 1598cc, 4 Cylinder, 8 Valve engine under the hood. The diesel engine of the car generates a peak power of 105 Bhp and top torque of 250 Nm. The gear transmission is taken care by a 5 speed manual gearbox in the Skoda Rapid, while in the near future the automatic transmission could well find its way.

As earlier mentioned the car along with being a low cost sedan it is also expected to come with a good mileage figure for both the petrol and diesel models. The petrol car is expected to deliver 15.4 Kmpl while the diesel model of the car would provide an impressive mileage of 20.5 kmpl. The car with its low price is expected to open a new avenue for the sedan segment in the auto market.
