It’s no secret that anyone who visits a Mazda dealer is likely in the market for a sporty car that packs a little punch under the hood and not as much in the wallet. This isn’t a slight against other types of Mazdas that have been manufactured over the years,Your Mazda Dealer Should Sell Race Cars Articles but the brand has earned its reputation on the strength of its cars.

Mazdas have rightfully earned that reputation over the years as solid, dependable sports cars that everyday people can afford and even wealthy people would like to be seen driving. So while other various automobiles in the line offer solid buys for consumers who may be interested in different qualities in their vehicle, sleek and sporty cars should always typically be what drives a customer to a Mazda dealer.

The Miata, which is now known worldwide as the MX-5, is one of the top-selling cars of its generation and one of the best-selling convertibles in the world year-in and year-out. Alongside it, a number of other models in the line have taken their place as among the most popular and well-driven of their kind.

So what makes your Mazda dealer able to offer so many competent, well-built and affordable automobiles? Part of it is surely a background in auto racing.

Mazdas date back to 1968 in the racing circuit, when the manufacturer’s first couples entered an endurance race in Germany. A year later, the brand won its first race at the Singapore Grand Prix, beginning a long and proud tradition of racing for the manufacturer.

The more experience the brand earned in racing, the better its builders became at engineering an effective sports car. In 1976 an RX-5 was driven right off the lot of a Mazda dealer in New Jersey down to Daytona Beach, Fla., where it won the under-2.5 liter class of the famed 24 Hours of Daytona endurance race. Following the victory, it was driven right back to New Jersey. From there, the RX-7 won more international races than any competitor in its class, including a victory of its own at the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Even with those accomplishments under its collective belt, the manufacturer earned perhaps its most impressive achievement in 1991 when a 787B model won another renowned endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. It remains the only vehicle to win with a non-piston engine and the manufacturer is the only one not from Europe or the United States to win the event.

With these and other achievements in the back pocket, it's no wonder why a Mazda dealer has so many attractive, high-performance vehicles to offer. In fact, it may even be worth asking if one has a racecar available for a test drive.
