Beam Sensors and their Usage in Building Constructions

Horizontal sensors are used for the purpose of monitoring the settlement or a motion of a building. Vertical sensors are used for observing the horizontal movement and divergence of the building.   The most widely used application for beam sensors are pedestrian doors. They contain an infrared beam set that are used in various applications. The beams that are used in this application fit perfectly into a pre-drilled ½” hole and they are a perfect fit. Wiring is done by a disconnect cable that can be of the shape of a daisy chain. These beams provide an LED indication at the back side for the purpose of ease in placement and troubleshooting.To install a beam sensor the first and the most important thing that you need to do is to drill a ½” hole at the mounting place. Do not use more than one set of beams and instead of that substitute the orientation of the beam at the right side. Next attach the cable from the end point to the preferred beam mounting location. Now plug the cable of the beam to the connector. When the beam is installed into the ½” hole, press it till it is fixed perfectly to the opening. The thickness of the wall for the drilled material should not be more than 1/8”.  Cabling is considered to be the most important part that affects the Beam Sensors. When there is LO-Linux lockout units then plug each beam into the joining point at the module. The joining points can be seen on the LO-Linux. If the sensors beams are used directly then make sure that the NPN/Light Operate Output would work with the door controller.   Home security system is the place where beam sensors are used more commonly.
