Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana: It is the scheme launched by the state government of Odisha to provide housing units to the lower segments of the society. The Scheme is mainly launched to target the rural area of Odisha state. Under the scheme, the state government will provide Pucca house (Cemented Houses) to the people of rural area. The scheme is also aimed to provide a decent lifestyle to the rural people of the state.
The main objective of the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana is to convert all kutcha ghar into pucca ghar in rural areas of the state. This approach of the state of providing a pucca houses to rural area would be complete in the time period. Pucca house under the scheme would be constructed with foundation, walls & permanent material roof, fly ash bricks, cement concrete etc. These house would have long life of 30 years.
Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana has two components including BPGY (Normal) and BPGY (Special):
BPGY (Normal): This component will benefit the households have a kutcha house from SECC 2011. The kutcha house of these household will converted into a pucca houses under this component.
BPGY (Special): This component will benefit the households who are affected by natural/man made calamities such as fire, earth quake, flood, cyclone, major law and order problem, communal violence, elephant menace etc.
Under the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana scheme only those people are eligible who have not any pucca house and registered in the list of SECC 2011 of kutcha house and not constructed any pucca houses. The beneficiary should not have availed any pucca houses of the government housing scheme to be eligible for the scheme.
The scheme will offer a houses with a build-up area of around 20 square meter which would cost Rs. 70,000/- for non IAP districts and 75,000/- for IAP districts. Under the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana, beneficiary construct the houses and the state government will provide a financial support to the beneficiary. Under the scheme, the beneficiaries are free to plan the layout and design of their pucca house as per their requirement and preference.
