Behaviourist: The basis of this approach is the classical conditioning model. It talks about how the external environment factors enable people to behave in certain ways. The classical conditional propagated those factors in the environment act as stimulus determining the level of happiness or pain. These responses are patterns of individual behaviour and they vary from one person to another.
Cognitive: This part of psychology deals with mental processes, the processes may be how something is learned, memorized or perceived. The cognitive school of thought argues that the processing of information is a mental process. Business research in artificial intelligence also involve mental processes and are a part of the cognitive study.
Humanistic: This concept was developed in the year 1950. It was founded by the American psychologists Abraham Maslow the developer of the human needs hierarchy and Carl Rogers who was the developer of the client centred therapy. This approach uses the phenomenology and the inter-
Subjectivity to have an insight on the person as a whole and not just bits and parts of his or her personality. The focus of this approach is on the issues related to humans such as self- realisation, identity, freedom, death and loneliness. It focuses subjective meanings.
These approaches of occupational psychology can be applied to Swan Coopers As this approaches will enable the company to shift from the patenalistic managferial approach originaly existing and focus on more mental and behavioural aspects of the workforce.
The Behaviourist approach in Swan Coopers: will answer the questions of what erxternal factors will bring about transperancy and clarity and participation between the employees of the company as Behaviorism focuses on the reward for good habits and performances and discouraging bad habits .So by this approach Swan Coopers will understand what external factors will motivate the employees of Swan Coopers and convince them to be a part of the organizational change/.
The Cognitive approach in Swan Coopers: will enable changes in the management practices and the behaviour of the employees by changing their perception about how relationships should be in the firm and the importance of participation. As this approach will be oriented at changing the way the work force in the law of organisation percieved the earlier management method and initiate positive perception of the present techniques of management after the American takeover.
The Humanistic approach in Swan Coopers will initiate a complete individual analysis of all the employees and the management of the company. This will enable Swan Cooper to understad what are the barriers in individual personalities to implement the processof change ad what type of individual they require to add in their workforce to initiate the process of change and development effectively.
