Seeing the musical MENOPOAUSE has really inspired me to write an article about the power and wisdom of women's period and how to use this information to move forward in your business. Any time that I talk to women about their period, most often than not I hear something like this 'I wish I didn't have my period because it is messy and only gets in the way.' Can you relate to this statement? Well I used to think so as well. Not anymore. And after you read this article you won't look at your period the same way either.

It is time that you as a woman took your power back into your own hands and used it to your advantage. There is a reason you bleed every month and it is not just about fertility,How to Use Your Period to Move Forward in Business Articles I promise.

It is said that your first period is really initiation into womanhood. Well it didn't feel like that to me. I got my first period when I was 13. I was in pain, scared and I didn't understand what was happening. My mom didn't really explain anything, just gave me the pad to use and that was the end of the story.

In school I learned that your period is all about fertility and reproduction. All you needed to know about your period was: when it is, if it's going to hurt and what you can do to not get pregnant. Nobody really taught us that there is more to this whole equation.

So that is exactly how I related to it. My period was really painful from the get go so all I was concerned with is getting rid of the pain. Since the pain killers were not so effective after awhile, I decided to look for other alternatives. I played around with different modalities and I have found that essential oils were really something that helped me in reducing the pain. However there was still something missing. I felt that there was more and I was determined to get to it...

So I started to pay attention to my cycle and recorded what I found. I saw that there was a pattern that emerged every month. I learned to use this information to plan my days, to move forward and be more powerful and balanced as a woman. And it worked. As a result, I became more focused, more efficient, my energy increased, so did my creativity and my intuition was communicating like never before.

So here is the scoop:

There are really two phases when it comes to your period:

  • The active outward phase
  • The passive inward phase
I will use a 28 day cycle to show you the phases.

The active outward phase is generally from the 1st to 14th day of your cycle. This means the first day of your period is the first day of your cycle. Depending upon the kind of period you have, this phase can move up a couple of days. For example, the first two days of my period are my down time so my energy increases only the 3rd day of my cycle.

Here are some definitions for the outward phase:

  • you are in your male/active mode,
  • you have outgoing high energy,
  • you feel motivated,
  • your overall feeling is positive,
  • it peaks at your ovulation.
This is get out there and do your thing phase. It is a favorable time to set up meetings, to create new connections and affiliations in your business. If you have something that you were dreading to get done - this is the time to do it. It will take you less time and less resistance to get it done. Ideal time for marketing.

For a lot of women this phase starts with your period and ends with your ovulation (if we are using 28 days as a parameter than this would be 14th day of your cycle.)

The passive inward phase starts generally from the 15th day of your cycle and ends the day you get your period.

Here are some definitions for the inward phase:

  • you enter your female/passive mode,
  • your energy decreases as you get closer to your period,
  • tendency to turn inward,
  •
  • feeling moody and edgy,
  • you are more likely to get impatient and irritated,
  • you are more likely to speak what's on your mind,
  • your creativity is heightened,
  • time to take care of yourself and your needs.
This is the time to slow down and pay attention phase, tune in and see what's getting your attention that is out of balance in your business and in your life. Your intuition is magnified; your senses are more alert. It is time of cleansing and letting go what no longer serves you.

Time to incubate your projects, to get refocused and re-centered, time to do your writing. Ideal time for creating materials for classes and products. This is a time of inner guidance. Since this is time to slow down, I highly suggest that you lighten your load and take at least one day off, just for yourself. If you do that, I promise in the outward phase of your cycle your energy will triple, you'll feel more balanced and you will become more efficient then ever before.

After your inward phase is done you begin with the outward phase again.

Best way to start is by recording your monthly cycle every day for at least 2 months. You will start seeing a pattern that will emerge ad then you can use it to create a schedule that is unique and works for you. I use a great tool for recording my cycle. It is http://www.mymonthlycycles.com/. I'm not endorsing any information on this site, I just like that you can use it to record your information about your period. You can even set it up to send you e-mail reminders every day so that you don't forget.

Let me know how it goes. I would love to hear from you. If you would like my guidance to figure out how you can best use your period to become more effective, focused and more profitable woman, or call me.
