On the day of relocation you cannot store or move some items, these items are illegal to move and if you will hireremoval companies they will straight away disagree for such kind of removals either its household removals or office removals. Customs rules and regulations do not permit anyone to move such items during interstate and intrastate movement in UK.

The following can be moved door to door only; i.e. they cannot be stored for any period:

1.      Non corrosive liquids.

2.      Furs (but keep in mind that you must pack this stuff yourself because these are PBO items and removal companies will not accept any responsibility for loss or damage,Items cannot be Stored or Moved Articles except in the case of loss, or damage to a carton, caused by the removals).

3.      Granulated and powdered garden fertilizers (bags must be wrapped individually in heavy-duty polyethylene bags and sealed).

Removal companies do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to these items. The above items can cause a danger to the removals or to other goods in transit. You will be responsible for any kind of damage to your belongings or other effects caused by these items.

·         Which items cannot be moved? Dangerous, hazardous or flammable items cannot be part of your removal. Removal firms have strict regulations about the removal stuff and storage of dangerous, flammable or hazardous items. Under no circumstances are dangerous, flammable or hazardous items to be stored or moved as part of your removals. It’s your responsibility to ensure that these items are not included in your consignment. Heavy penalties may apply should injury to person or property results from inclusion of these items.

Examples of dangerous, flammable or hazardous items that cannot be moved as part of your removal are:

1.      Petrol, kerosene, paints, varnish, turpentine, methyl spirits, pure alcohol, oils.

2.      Photographic developers, oxygen, methane, chlorine gas, mercury, caustic solutions.

3.      Oxides, pesticides, weed killers, polishes, arsenic, flares, fireworks, black powder.

4.      LPG cylinders that have not been certified as empty by a licensed provider.

5.      Gas cylinders for home soft drink makers, aerosol cans, matches, butane lighters.

6.      Irritants, home brew, life rafts, pressurized vessels, explosive devices of any kind.

·         These items cannot be moved as part of your household goods removal:

1.      Non-portable items that cannot reasonably be handled by two people due to size, shape, weight and that require additional lifting equipment (such as forklifts or cranes). If, however, the non-portable item can be packaged and dismantled by the owner it may be approved by your Toll Transitions Case Manager for removal as a PBO item.

2.      Motor bikes, mini bikes and trail bikes, these items cannot be a part of your removal unless you will pack them in special crates and drain out lubricants like petrol and oil.

3.      Car parts – anything that forms part of a motor vehicle including panels, drive train items, windscreens, partly-built cars, car tyres, seats (dickey seats are an exception) but excluding accessories (accessories are generally after-market fitments such as visors, shades and towing rear view mirrors).

4.      Hobby vehicle parts that are not clean and/or present a risk of injury to persons or property will not be eligible for removal.

5.      Bulk fuel or building materials, such as garages, carports, bricks, firewood and coal.

6.      Dangerous items such as firearms including ammunition and replica firearms (other than in specific circumstances covered by legislation).

7.      Living items, such as poultry and birds, plants and livestock, including shrubs, indoor plants and trees.

8.      Cash (in any currency).

9.      Soiled items.

10.  Jeweler, stamp and coin collections.

11.  Private papers (wills, passports, etc).

If you are going to hire removal firm then you must mention details related to your property, then charges need to be confirmed and the most important part is to fill up form where you provide your contacts i.e., your residential address, e-mail id etc, these things need to be done before removal so your removal will be comfortable.
