Nomos Glashütte refers to a German watchmaking company.

It is based in Glashütte,Nomos Watch Company. Articles Saxony. Nomos specializes in manual-winding watches as well as automatic mechanical watches. It was in January 1990 that this company was founded. The first collection designs were drawn up by Susanne Günther. These drew influence from the Bauhaus purist style. In fact, Nomos designs have always been widely praised for their totally clean and having a modernist aesthetic. Earlier the company was focused on manufacturing mechanical watches that came with hand-wound movements. Till 2005, the basis for this movement was the Swiss-made ETA SA / Peseux 7001. The annual production of these luxury watches is approximately 20,000 pieces.

Nomos Glashütte is making use of only in-house movements since 2005. It begins with Alpha, a manual winding caliber. Since then this range has expanded in order to include a range of various other manual winding movements having a host of additional functions. The first automatic Nomos watch was the Tangomat. It was introduced for the first time in the summer of 2006. Now the company has gradually expanded its range of watches in order to include new models as well as sizes, which include Ahoi and Metro. It was in 2013 that the company introduced two gold models and added these to its collection. These were called Lambda and Lux.

The company also unveiled its in-house escapement, called the NOMOS swing system in 2014. Now this new component is being slowly introduced into the NOMOS’ caliber range. In fact, even that is being renamed now. NOMOS Glashütte had introduced its tenth in-house caliber, DUW 3001 in 2015. It is 3.2 mm in height. It is a thin automatic caliber that is currently exclusive to its neomatik series that was launched at BaselWorld 2016. There are twelve NOMOS watch models presently. All of these come in a number of variations.

Tngente; Originally it was hand-wound. It has an optional date function, power reserve indicator besides a white or champagne dial that can be in 33, 35, or 38 mm diameter. It is also available as a limited edition for Doctors Without Borders in the UK, USA, as well as Germany. In 2015 an automatic model was released which houses the new DUW 3001 in-house caliber. Tangomat; This is automatic in 38 mm diameter. It has an optional date function. There can be a white or dark-colored dial. It has a world time function too.
