The packaging industry is one of the most active both in Italy and the world. The dream of every design is to create containers that immediately attract customers, preferring their products to those of competitors and this often produces very beautiful and funny products.

Designers from around the world are therefore constantly looking for new and original packaging that immediately attract the eye of consumers on supermarket shelves. Despite the effects of the economic crisis,The novelty of the industrial packaging Articles 2008 was a good year for the Italian industry of machinery and packaging, thanks to the good results registered by both exports as well from the sales on the domestic market. The sector-based turnover has in fact increased by 6% and exports by 4%, the share of exports in the total turnover is around 88%.

In 2008 the growth of domestic deliveries has not stopped (+24.2%), while domestic demand is "only" grew by 15.9% due to the lower increase in imports (+6.7%). It has so grown the domestic market share held by the Italian manufacturers, while imports are limited to 44.2% of total consumption. Ucima also signals the further growth (+3.7%) of the surplus balance of trade industry of packaging machines, thanks to the important increase in exports. The surplus has in fact reached 3.379 billion euro, marking for the fourth consecutive year a record value of recent decades.

Thanks to the success of the fair Cibus Tec, held at Parma Fairs, the exhibition of technologies and machines for all food farming chains, UCIMU and Rimini Fair have decided to create Packology, a new fair for the packaging to be held in Rimini for the first time from 8 to 11 June 2010. Packology is aimed at operators interested in process technologies, packaging and packaging across all the industries. The product catalog comprises packaging machines, processing machines, packaging materials, technology for labeling, coding and marking, accessories and components, technologies related to logistics, printing and publishing industry. "It  is an historic landmark for Ucima - says the president Giovanni Caffarelli - who today sees the green light for one of its more ambitious projects. The forthcoming exhibition will have to become the ' comfortable and convenient home' for the whole industrial system linked to the world of packaging. " He adds: " Today the cost control has become a top priority and this operation must fall within a sustainability different from the past. "

"The birth of a new exhibition projects at a time of general difficulties for the worldwide industry, is a concrete answer to the question of recovery that is rising everywhere - echoes Lorenzo Cagnoni, President of Rimini Fiera Spa -. We are aware of the difficulties we will encounter, we place ourselves in a competitive and aggressive context, where there is already an exhibition presence.

Good news then for the field of packaging, which confirms one of the most important assets of the Italian industrial landscape, not only for its originality and innovation but also for solid expertise in building these machines.
