Work Clothes: A Simple Guide.

Choosing the work clothes you wear each day can be overwhelming at times. Deciding what’s fashionable, practical or appropriate is an everyday chore. This article will help analyze these decisions and help your choice of work clothes be easier.

It's hard enough getting a job these days, and even harder is dressing up for the job once you get it. With times changing the nature of working environments it becomes very hard to choose work clothes that are appropriate and comfortable at the same time. And being too self conscious about what you wear doesn't make it any easier. So before employees spoil their virgin opportunities by dressing indecently I will give this simple guide to work clothes.

Fitting in is all about doing what the collective does and showing belief in what they believe. It's just the same as the work environment. Dressing appropriately will determine how comfortable you feel and how people perceive you. Tight and short skirts; revealing blouses and the classical Hip-Hop caps are out of the equation. Appropriate clothing is what can be seen as normal at work, not something that will make heads turn when they see it.

Neatness never killed a person. So why go to work in dirty, wrinkled and torn work clothes? When people meet each other for the first time they immediately jump into judging what sort of a person you are by seeing how you're dressed. Now if you're not presentable people will form a negative image of you and this will greatly influence how much respect and dignity will be slung your way at work.

Work clothes need to be relaxing and comfy. To do this you will have to wear apparel that you feel comfortable in when so many eyes will be looking at your every move. So if you're a self conscious person you had better do what I'm about to tell you. Wear flat shoes instead of high heels and abstain from short skirts if you feel uncomfortable about picking up something from the floor.

Appropriateness has been in the picture for years now. The reason is quite logical when you think hard about it. Golf shirts; short high heels; turtlenecks; simple sweaters and sneakers and flat shoes are acceptable. But on the other hand you don't want to be wearing tight skirts; flip-flops; morning shoes; and offensive clothing of words and pictures.

Jewelry and hats are allowed at work, there is nothing really wrong with them. But there is a problem when an employee wears a party or summer hat to the AGM. Muslim hats and other religious head gears are allowed at some places as well.

Sometimes it's not just about going to work and hoping that you won't get called over for inappropriate dressing. You will also have to consult the boss in your department and ask about what is not appropriate.
