The behaviour of animals in the zoo and in the wild can tell a lot about how the self urge and self motivation is important to our life......

Can a lion or a bison or a giraffe or a zebra in the zoological garden go hungry for many days?  Can they live without water or live in search of water and food for many days?  How about their counterparts that live in the wild?  Animals in the wild naturally go hungry and thirsty for many days during peak summer season and wander around for food and water.

Has the corporate employees ever observed the above phenomena or had they attempted to learn something from it? What is there to learn so big?  So much,Motivation from within or from a trainer is best? Articles the corporate employees have to learn from the contradicting behaviour of animals in zoological garden versus their counterparts in wild.

Why animals in the zoological garden cannot sustain their energy levels without food or water for long, even for just a few days?  Why they become very weak when the food or water is not served to them regularly.  The simple reason is that the animals in the zoological garden were never pushed to search their food for survival.  Always the food was served on time at their door step.  When the food is served so perfectly at regular interval, these animals have lost their natural ability and strength to search and find their food.   These animals were always trained to wait with hope that the food will be served at their door step.

The animals in the zoological garden largely relay on hope & expectation than effort and search.  On the contrary, their wild counterpart is never trained to believe that the food will be served to their door step.   Always it has to search its food and it has to work for it.  It has to put its effort to get its food.  To search and to put effort, it needs psychological energy more than physical energy and that is why these animals remain relatively stronger even during non availability of food.

If one need to relate the above to corporate means, the ‘self urge’ and ‘self motivation’ is what pushes the animals in the wild whereas the animals in the zoological garden neither have the ‘self urge’ nor ‘self motivation’.

Is it not true that the employees in most corporate are like animals in the zoological garden?  All the comforts are given and needs are fulfilled on time?  With time, they become slaves or beggars of such comfort. A life without such comfort they cannot even imagine.  They totally drain out their ‘self urge’ and ‘self motivation’ in the above process.

The HR in most corporate smartly organizes the motivational trainings to the employees.  Possible reason for such trainings given are either due the complete knowledge of the fact that these people totally lack self motivating ability hence such trainings are needed or due to the fear that if such trainings are not give, some may develop such qualities.  If someone develop self motivating ability, it is dangerous as they may search freedom from their self made slavery.  By giving such trainings, even such remote possibilities can be blocked forever.

The comparative portrayal of animals in the zoo & in the wild vis-à-vis employees in corporate is not meant to hurt or mock at them but to invigorate the energy in them to discover and develop latent strength.  If the employees learn to break the shackle and find their freedom, they can become wonderful entrepreneurs and builders of new world.   All they need is a light to see and confirm their strength.
