Resume Branding

When you brand a resume, you are going above merely stating qualification. Instead, you are showcasing a distinction and a trademark. A signature that is yours and yours alone, helping you soar above your competition.

A resume should tell your story. If you do not witness your resume win you the best job interviews you truly desire, your resume is not doing its job at telling a compelling story.

In order to win those top-paying interviews, you have to brand yourself as a must-call, top 3 choice candidate. How you accomplish this is by way of a personal brand.

What is Personal Branding? Let me share below, but for more information, please visit us at www.careersteering.com

The idea of “personal branding” at first thought doesn’t quite register to most people. They might not understand what it means. In short, a personal brand is you and your presence on the internet and offline. It is what you want people to see when they first meet you or learn about you. It is the persona that you want to portray online when people find you. Your personal brand can be marketed visually and through content marketing. Both matter.

An example of why branding matters:

Have you ever took a few minutes to google your name and see what comes up? In this online era, things both good and bad have a possibility of lasting forever on the internet. Sometimes it can be a little difficult to get rid of the bad things. So personal branding, in this day and age, is more important than ever.

How does personal branding help you stand out?

Your personal brand can be crucial to your profession. It is how you are presenting yourself to all of your current and future employers. It would help to think about it as an advertisement for you, showcasing your value, your services, and achievements in alignment with your carer goals. By way of personal branding, you can be in control of advertising the reputation you wish others to see and you can communicate your strengths and your mission statement.

Why Telling Your Personal Brand Story Matters

It helps your employers and people in general connect and relate to you. It makes them feel closer to you as if they know you. They will gain a sense of trust and respect for you; even people you have never met personally. It’s no surprise that the person with strong personal branding will succeed over any individual that does not pay much attention to what their personal branding may promote.

A post on the Forbes webpage sites the following,  “According to a 2018 CareerBuilder survey, 70% of employers use social media to screen candidates during the hiring process, and 43% of employers use social media to check on current employees.”

So clean up your social media accounts and strengthen your personal brand. That is a surefire way to get you into the top candidate list for any employer.

At the end of the day, your personal branding should, in a way, be a completely clean cut reflection of you.
