Rather than an improved version of the 3GS,The iPhone 4 By Apple Provides An Impressive User Experience Articles the iPhone 4 is an entirely new handset ushering in a new era for the technology Goliath.  But the question is, what makes the iPhone 4 a better iPhone?

To start with, the design of the iPhone 4 is completely different to previous models.  The shape of the handset itself is more angular and could be described as more modern appearance, leaving behind the curved corners and back of the previous handset.  It is also made of new materials.  The previous iPhones were manufactured of plastic, however the iPhone 4 is made of metal and strengthened glass, which gives it a premium quality feel and leaves users with no doubts about its build quality.  Despite being made of these new materials it is still relatively lightweight at just 137 g.

One of the main complaints of previous iPhone users has always been the camera.  Whilst it was never there were some the world, apple has listened to its customers and installed a 5 mega pixel camera on the iPhone 4.  This boasts the ability to shoot HD (720p) video as well as taking stunning quality still images.  Another improvement of the camera is the long awaited presence of the flash facility.  There is the second camera located on the front of the handset above the screen.  This VGA camera makes it easy to take self portrait photographs and also allows users to utilise the FaceTime app.  This allows users to carry out high quality video calls with other iPhone 4 users over a Wi-Fi connection.

One of the most impressive and highly publicised features of the iPhone 4 is the retina display.  This gets its name due to the fact that the pixel resolution is so high that this human eye cannot make out the individual pixels.  Therefore, viewing photos and watching movies is an absolute joy, and content rich web sites can be enjoyed to their full potential.  Even text appears crisp and clear, so much so that it has to be seen to be believed, so we notice the difference.  Touchscreen navigation is also easily carried out thanks to the generous 3.5 inch screen.

Users can utilise 3G and Wi-Fi to surf the web using the Safari web browser.  The new iOS 4 operating system works perfectly in conjunction with the Apple A4 processor (1GHz).  In fact, this is the same processor used in the iPad.  It provides a lightning fast speeds allowing users to carry out demanding applications and run simultaneous apps.  With all this extra technology, apple has increased the battery life by 40% compared to the 3GS.

Available in both black and white colour schemes, and a choice of 16 GB or 32 GB options, the Apple iPhone 4 looks set to remain the most desirable Smartphone on the market for quite some time.  Other manufacturers will be hard-pressed to match the specifications of the iPhone 4, so until the manufacturer releases the next version, the Apple iPhone 4 looks set to remain on top.
