In the process of bandwidth management, the traffic or the data which is going through a network link is managed.

In the process of bandwidth management,Bandwidth Management Used For Bandwidth Limit And Traffic Shaping Articles the traffic or the data which is going through a network link is managed or controlled in order to provide a free flow path for the packets to move and also to avoid any kind of congestion over the network. The network when congested results in poor performance and creates troubles for all the users. In this process it is also checked that no any user should fill the link to its full capacity. The principle of traffic shaping is applied in order to limit the people from using extra bandwidth. This actually limits the rate of the traffic that has to pass through the link during certain period of time.

A bandwidth limit is applied in the process of bandwidth management. This means that every user has a specific and limited bandwidth which he can use and the network will not allow him to use more bandwidth than that. There are many mechanisms used for this purpose. To manage the bandwidth over a link certain things need to be done like the traffic shaping, there can be scheduling algorithms which can be used to manage the bandwidth, also if there occurs any kind of congestions over the network or at any link, there are some congestion control algorithms which help to maintain a continuous flow of packets or data without any blockage or jamming of the path. There are also some of the bandwidth reservation algorithms, which can be used if a certain user has demanded for more usage of the bandwidth.

With the help of the bandwidth limiter or the traffic shaper, we get such a network which assures to give us no latency. The data packets which can be delayed are sent late in time. There is also a priority attached to all the packets.

Some users require more bandwidth than the others and for this purpose you can not install a bandwidth limiting software on each and every computer over the network. For this purpose, there is just one bandwidth manager, which can control the traffic throughout the network. All of the things that you need for a network, like certain bandwidth, limit the access of unauthorized websites or the firewall configurations, all can be done through single software. This works well for all the computers which are on that particular network.

The process of Bandwidth manager is very useful and of great help for the networks who have many users and also these users have different requirements when it comes to bandwidth usage. Some of the advantages of this process are the better efficiency of the network, all of the computers attached to the network are assured to have a suitable allocation of the bandwidth, and it saves and reduces money by giving only the needed bandwidth to the users, your data becomes more secure as none of the blacklisted websites can access your data through bandwidth manager software, your time is also saved as you do not have to wait for longer hours if you want to download video or audio files etc.
