There are Corporate ERP implementation specifics for Illinois based businesses as in the state of IL we have distribution hub, where small and mid-size light assembly and manufacturing businesses are fulfilling specific B2B customer orders and shipping them across the USA (often through Chicago railroad hub)

This is one of the reasons why it is especially important to have Barcoding automation,Microsoft Dynamics GP Support in Illinois: Barcoding, Warehouse Management, Light Assembly Articles custom logistics and warehouse management.  In this small publication we are coming through Dynamics GP (formerly this small business ERP application was also known as Great Plains Dynamics) features and technologies:
1. Modular structure.  Available modules cover most of the aspects of modern mid-size and even large business: General Ledger, Inventory, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Sales Order Processing, Purchase Order Processing, Payroll, Bill Of Materials, Human Resources, Manufacturing (discrete), Non Profit Accounting - just to begin the list.  You do not have to purchase and implement the whole set of modules, you pick just required functionality and implement the reasonable subset to cover your required business processes, plus pick Dynamics GP ISV supported add-ons to cover industry specific logic (not covered in the core set of Dynamics GP modules) or if you have something absolutely unique, you discuss with your Dynamics GP Technology Partner the options to customize Great Plains to cove these gaps
2. Dynamics GP custom Barcoding.  Technically - you may automate with Barcode scanner each Dynamics GP screen with editable fields.  This is why it is too optimistic to expect Barcode automation in barcode scanner batch upload sense from existing barcoding add-ons.  However, the good news is - Dynamics GP Dexterity allows you to program reasonably simple barcoding add-ons to cover your specific logic.  You can also consider Barcode item labels printing in Crystal Report - label printing is typically required upon the Purchase Items Receipt (for the whole batch or individual Purchase Order or Receipt)
3. Warehouse Management.  This topic is very generic, it is sometimes referred as part of Supply Chain Management (where Barcoding plays important technology role).  We would like to hear your store and advise accordingly
4. Discrete Production.  If you are large manufacturing mill, please consider full suite of Microsoft Dynamics GP Manufacturing modules.  For mid-size and small assembly locations, we recommend to consider Bill Of Materials module first, as it should be able to cover basic manufacturing requirements
5. Old Dynamics GP or Great Plains Dynamics or Great Plains Accounting for DOS version recovery and upgrade.  This procedure should be done through your Microsoft Dynamics GP Partner, who should be able to place you back into Microsoft Business Solutions annual enhancement program and secure new Dynamics GP version licenses.  Then - you should design upgrade strategy, which may contain several steps (via intermediate Dynamics GP versions).  You can upgrade all the way from Great Plains Accounting for DOS (9.2, 9.5 or even earlier) to Microsoft Dynamics GP 11.0.  If you don't have upgrade budget and would like to stay with current Great Plains legacy version, we should be able to provide reasonable (but limited, as there is no way to get support directly from Microsoft for Great Plains version earlier than 9.0 at this time, March 2010) support without the options to add new user or modules
