You have to like three things to enjoy this game. Those are hidden object levels, adventure quests and greek mythology. They are the three pillars of Odysseus: Long Way Home. The game is wonerfully polished in its many aspects.

The game is a nice break from the seemingly endless parade of dark, gloomy, depressing haunted mansion-type games.

Odysseus: Long Way Home is, as it's title implies, about the legendary hero from Greek mythology, Odysseus and his struggle to get home after the Trojan War. At one point they were tired and wanted to be on land and stopped at which turned out to be Helios's Island. Also on their journey they ran into this witch Cice who turned Odysseus's men into beasts. Then you went into the underworld for help and so the story goes on.

The game is a nice break from the seemingly endless parade of dark, gloomy, depressing haunted mansion-type games. It is a bit on the easy side but if you get stuck, there is the hint to help you get around so you don't have to go to the walk-through.

The hint system points to the item in your inventory and tells you where to use it. The hint is like a built in walkthrough.The graphics and music are pretty and the gameplay is entertaining.

As to the gameplay, You find objects on the list and some of the objects you have to do a second step to get. You get an object to use in your quest as well as find items along the way to use. The game is rather easy; there isn't much challenge to the mini-games either. But they are very well done and still made you think.

The game is great in general, but some may not find it as enjoying. But that is totally okay.
