FAT32 file system disk doesn’t support system copies and large data handling. It’s better to convert your FAT32 disk to NTFS disk, which support system restore application and allows large data handling.

Hey,Steps to convert a FAT32 to NTFS file system Articles have you got fed up with your computer system having FAT32 system disk, its restore application is not working properly, you are not able to store large file on your flash drive or external hard disk, friends nothing to worry about, this article will help you in finding solutions to get rid of such problems. Calling every time a technician is not good, it takes off money and knowledge, no one is computer expert by birth, learning and practically applying them, makes them expert, this article is for you to make an expert.

Friends, FAT32 file system disk, doesn’t support system restore application, as shadow copies are not created in FAT disk. Shadow copies contain information about changes to documents and system files. For this you have to convert your FAT32 file system disk to NTFS file system disk. Also FAT32 file system disk does not support handling large files (over 4GB), so it’s better to convert your FAT disk to NTFS system disk. The steps to do so are as follows,

·         Go to Computer, and note the name of the drive whose file system you wish to convert.

·         Click on Start.

·         Type cmd in the search bar if you use Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows Vista. If you use Windows XP, click on Run and then execute cmd.

·         Execute "chkdsk h: /f " (without quotes) where H is the letter of the drive to undergo conversion. This checks the drive for errors and fixes them automatically.

·         Execute "Convert H: /FS:NTFS" (without quotes). H is again the letter of the drive to be converted.

·         The command prompt will start the conversion process and after a few minutes, CMD will say that conversion was successful.

·         You can check it in the properties of the drive through right click->Properties.

·         It is interesting to note that this method cannot be used to reconvert NTFS file system back to FAT32. NTFS file system is more secure, stable and require less defragmentation time. When we use FAT file system, we normally get message “not enough disk space error”, which is not seen when we use NTFS file system. FAT32 file systems are more susceptible to disk errors. In case of errors, NTFS volumes retain the ability to recover from errors, as opposed to similar FAT32 volumes. Log files are created under NTFS, which are used for automatic repair of the file system. Another benefit of NTFS is that it supports dynamic cluster remapping for bad sectors and also prevents these bad clusters from being used in the future. NTFS supports file compression, whereas FAT32 does not. Space management is more efficiently done on NTFS as compared to FAT32. Cluster size has an important role to play in how much disk space is wasted in storing files. Smaller cluster sizes and less disk space are wasted in NTFS as compared FAT32.

Friends if you are smart enough, and have technical knowledge of computers and related terms you can precede it by yourself by following the steps I have discussed above. If not you can also use third party tools for this or you can visit the site of impcsupport, for the technical support. It also provides windows support, software’s, protection tools and so on.
