It’s the fifth biggest city in the United States,Dating in Philadelphia Articles it’s been going strong for over 300 years, it’s home to more than one and a half million people - so how can it be hard to find love in Philly? For people who haven’t married their childhood sweethearts, dating in Philadelphia is a part of life. Luckily then, it’s a great city to be doing it in.

First up, dating’s a great chance to revisit those old places that you usually only ever go to when your cousin from out of state comes to stay. When’s the last time you checked out the Liberty Bell or Independence Hall? All right, so they might not be the sexiest of places to meet up with someone, but good tourist spots can be a relaxed place for a date, and who doesn’t love a bit of history every now and again? At least you’ll have something to talk about. On the other hand,  if you’re in need of something a bit more romantic, Philadelphia has one of the best cityscape views in the States, right across the Delaware to the skyscrapers beyond - even if you and your date have lived in the city your whole lives, looking at the scenery’s probably not something you do all that much. Then there’s the active date - the time when a movie is too indoorsy, a view is too boring, a historical site too serious - obviously a stroll in the country’s biggest park is the answer. A wander through Fairmount is bound to help strike up conversation, and I haven’t met a couple yet who haven’t found sparks flying as they feed the camels together at the zoo.

Of course, dating in Philadelphia has its ups and down. It’s all very well holding hands as you stroll through the sunshine and summer weather, but it can be difficult trying to persuade yourself outside in the freezing winter, let alone try to summon the courage to date. I guess there are plenty of people who pretty much hibernate, staying home, eating candy and watching tv - and hey, that’s definitely one way to face a winter. But we shouldn’t be forced to give up on half a year of looking for love! Philadelphia has some of the best cuisine in the country, and it hardly needs to be a sweaty 95 out for you to enjoy sharing a cheesesteak. And what about cheering on the 76ers? Adrenaline rush whatever the weather.

The truth is that it doesn’t have to be hard to find love in this city - dating in Philadelphia

can be an excuse for a great time with a whole load of great new people. You just have to take a look around you to see the best the city has to offer.
