Dealing with a bad breakup is tough. You don't want to get out of bed,Dealing With a Bad Breakup - 4 Steps to Help Move On Articles and if you do all you want to do is watch bad TV--as long as the shows don't remind you of your ex. It's tough, but you know you've got to, at some point, move on. Here's four steps to take to help you get over the break up.

1.  Put it away. Get all the reminders of your ex out of sight--especially pictures. Don't wear anything he or she gave you. Take all the reminders and box them up and put them in storage or somewhere out of sight. You don't have to tear them up or burn them, just put them away. If you are in an apartment and there is no where to put them, give them to a good friend or family member to hold onto.

2.  Take care of yourself. Exercise, get a manicure, a haircut. Do whatever will make you feel better and a little pampered. Exercising is great because it keeps your mind focused on what you're doing and when you're finished you'll just feel better.

3.  Volunteer. Spend some time each week delivering meals for Meals-On-Wheels or just help a friend with some chores they need done. By doing something for someone else, you're helping them, but you're also helping to build your self-esteem and taking your mind off the break up.

4. Have some fun! Get together with good friends and do something fun. Go to a movie, eat fun food, play miniature golf. Obviously, try to avoid activities that will remind you of your ex.
