I was skeptical of shopping online till a few months back. I did my first online shopping transaction at Pepperfry.com. It was a T-shirt that I ordered. It cost me Rs 400/-. Since it was not a very high amount I took a chance to shop online.

Since that day I am a regular shopper at Pepperfry.com which is why I fail to understand all these online rumors about a Pepperfry scam.

The other day I was reading a few reviews about Pepperfry that they did not deliver the product on time or that they delivered the wrong product. Well,Fake Reviews That Say Pepperfry Is a Scam Articles human errors are possible in any field. I am sure it must have been one of such case. But calling Pepperfry a scam is the last thing I would do. It is only if they didn’t respond to my complaint that I would call the brand a cheater, but it has never been the case.

There was a funny review in which the person had written that Pepperfry delivered the wrong colored Tupperware to his house and he complained to the customer service. The customer service asked him to send the picture of the delivered product to which the person’s excuse was that he did not have a camera and hence could not send it! I had a big laugh after reading that review. How is it possible that someone is able to shop online and not manage a camera to click a picture? There are mobile phones as well, not that the company is asking him to send the professional picture. I have a feeling that the person ordered the wrong product and is now regretting the decision. To find an alternative has posted a review as childish as this.

Also, some people have posted that the free shopping is not really free. Well if you think that the site will give you a coupon and you can just buy ANYTHING and get it delivered then you are a fool. It is a marketing tool for the website so it will reduce that much amount from the product that you will buy online. It cannot afford to give everything on its website for free. How dumb is that to assume that when you get a free coupon on registering you get to buy a product for full discount price!

Somehow most online portals have the same complaints- products not delivered, wrong product delivered, customer service rude etc. Well, I have had these issues with the top telecom companies of the world. So are those telecom companies also running a scam? Certainly not! The reason being that these companies are established from the time we have known the world as it existed. Only because these online portals are fairly new, people accuse them at the drop of a hat. Customer satisfaction is anyway a difficult goal to achieve in this country. In case of online shopping portal it is even more difficult because people do not trust the portals. Also the challenge is they cannot see the product for themselves, so assume on their own what it would be like. When it fails to be the same they get disappointed!

Pepperfry is surely not a scam. Having shopped a number of times from the site I am confident that it is not fake. I hope people don’t fall for stupid reviews and as a result avoid shopping from the portal because it is honestly their loss!
