BASIS Tucson is a grades 5-12 college preparatory charter school with the school year divided into trimesters.
The School for the Talented and Gifted (TAG) at the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center was rated #1 public high school in the United States by Newsweek in 2006 and 2007, and moved to #2 in 2008.
TAG was ranked 14th among Gold Medal Schools and 3rd among magnet schools in the US, according to the US News & World Report's ranking of the best high schools 2007. It was also ranked as the best public high school in the area by D MAGAZINE.
