CUSAT CAT is one of the most prestigious examinations in India.

CUSAT is the abbreviation of Cochin University of Science and Technology. It is a government-owned autonomous university located in Kochi (Cochin),CUSAT CAT Exam: A Detailed Study  Articles Kerala, India. As the name suggests, we can easily understand- this is a university of science and technology. It was funded in 1971. The institution has three different campuses. Out of these three, two campuses are in Kochi. Another is in Kuttanad, (Alappuzha), which is 66 Km away from Cochin. Each year, more than 2000 students take admission to this institution. It ranks fifth in India.

To offer degrees in engineering and science subjects at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels, the university conduct a common admission test called CUSAT CAT. To take part in this examination a candidate must apply online. Students who have passed 10+2 standard can sit for this exam. Application may be cancelled in case of furnishing any wrong documents. One has to meet the eligibility criteria to take part in the exam.

The test is taken on multiple choice questions. Questions are set from since subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. Qualified candidates can take admission to different academic disciplines like engineering, technology, medical sciences, law, marine sciences, sciences, environmental studies, humanities, and social sciences.

CUSAT CAT 2015 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates have to pass 10+2 standard or an equivalent course from a recognized Board.
  • They must get at least 50% marks in Mathematics.
  • They have to obtain a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

CUSAT CAT Paper Pattern

  • The CUSAT CAT Exam has two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2.
  • Paper 1: It contains 125 questions from Mathematics.
  • Paper 2: This paper includes 125 questions from Physics and Chemistry. The ratio is 3:2.

Application Fee

The application fee decided for General Category is Rs.1000/-. Reserved candidates get some deduction in it. Candidates belong to SC/ST Category are to pay only Rs.500/-, whereas candidates under NRI Quota pay only Rs.6000/-. Payment can be done by SBI or SBT bank chalan.
