Featured School of the Week of April 9, 2007: National Holistic Institute

Students interested in becoming professional massage therapists will find that National Holistic Institute (NHI) stands by its mission to "help you have work you love."

With four campuses situated in the greater Bay Area and Southern California, NHI teaches prospective massage therapists a broad range of massage modalities, including practical training in acupressure/shiatsu, deep tissue massage, energy massage, foot reflexology, pregnancy massage, seated massage, sports massage, Swedish massage, and other innovative body therapies.

Through National Holistic Institute's 720-hour massage theory and practice curriculum, students learn how to evaluate clients and develop individualized massage regimens to meet client needs.  In addition to its diverse assortment of massage therapy studies, students are taught about body mechanics, human anatomy, kinesiology, musculoskeletal system, postural analysis, and range of motion.  Furthermore, graduates may return to NHI to gain continuing education and advanced courses in a number of holistic modalities, such as Ayurvedic massage, chair massage, color therapy, infant massage, homeopathy and numerous other subjects of study.

Offering hands-on massage therapy training in spacious learning facilities, National Holistic Institute provides students with an airy student lounge, kitchen area, student library, and career development center.  Massage reference and class materials (including books, lotions, oils and sheets) are provided to attending students as well.

Students seeking financial assistance will be pleased to learn that NHI participates in a variety of federal student financial assistance programs, including Federal Pell Grants and Stafford loans, Federal Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) and Federal Work Study (FWS).

NHI's career development program is designed to help students understand key entrepreneurial business skills so they can become professional massage therapists in the private sector or in partnership in a spa or natural health clinic setting.  According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, successful candidates can anticipate excellent career prospects as employment in the field of massage therapy is expected to grow faster than average over the coming decade.

Accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), the National Holistic Institute is also a standing member of the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) Council of Schools.

HolisticJunction.com recognizes National Holistic Institute and applauds its quality standards in being an educational pioneer in holistic career training.
