Today, more and more willing individuals are turning to natural fields in health care to not only fill growing public demand for alternative and non-invasive treatments, but also because a career in massage therapy and other complementary medicine can be quite rewarding, both personally and professionally.  One of the many educational institutions making a positive impact for prospective students is Austin Schools of Massage (ASM) where students gain vital skills and education to become professional massage therapists.

Extending 12 locations throughout Texas, Austin Schools of Massage offer a variety of massage training programs geared for the future practitioner in mind.  The "Clark Comprehensive Program" provided at ASM is an in-depth professional career training course involving 720 hours of study.  Included in this course is ASM's 300-hour "Foundations" and 420-hour advanced clinical programs.

Students in the Foundations program gain practical training in a variety of massage techniques, which entail range of motion, stretching, sports massage, trigger points, onsite massage, and Swedish massage.  In addition, studies will encompass anatomy, physiology, hydrotherapy, health and hygiene, hands-on practice and internship, as well as business principles.

In ASM's advanced clinical training program, students will learn about pain management and injury rehabilitation. In addition to abovementioned education, individuals will acquire essential training in myofascial release technique and pathology for massage therapists.  Students in this massage training program will also be eligible to earn specialty certification in trigger point specialist and myofascial specialist.

One of the many reasons why potential students may desire to enroll in Austin Schools of Massage is the fact that comprehensive training can be completed in under two years' time.  Additionally, individuals who are pursuing a basic massage therapy course can complete training in ASM's 300-hour Foundations course.

Through its Career Assistance for Life Program," ASM continues to support its students and graduates not only during training, but after graduation as well. Furthermore, Austin Schools of Massage participates in a variety of financial assistance programs, including SLM Financial (part of Sallie Mae), corporate tuition reimbursement, Veteran Administration Benefits, and scholarships.

Austin Schools of Massage bases its educational programs on the principles of real-world focus and practice, integrative learning, professionalism and personal growth, and overall team support that is committed to the student's success. ASM is approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services, the International Council for Health Science Education, and the Veterans Administration.
