If you've been contemplating a career in the healing arts or spa/beauty, Spa Tech Institute, with several campus locations throughout Maine and Massachusetts, provides diverse career-training programs in cosmetology, esthetics, holistic massage, polarity therapy, and therapeutic massage.

While esthetics is offered in three, six and 12-month programs,* Spa Tech Institute's popular 600-hour program in esthetics (or aesthetics) is afforded at all campus locations.  Placing an emphasis on spa techniques, the esthetics program can be completed in less than a year, and offers supplementary education in integrated advanced therapeutic touch skills, in addition to natural product orientation.  Esthetics program graduates are eligible for licensure. (*Check campus for program availability.)

Therapeutic and holistic massage therapy curricula at Spa Tech Institute are great for the aspiring massage therapist.  Whether individuals choose to participate in the 600-hour therapeutic massage program or the 600-hour holistic massage program, rest assured that the practical education and training will be both in-depth and hands-on.  Both courses instruct students in the basics of Swedish massage (120 hours), in addition to anatomy and physiology, advanced massage, and 100 hours of clinical training.  The difference between these two curricula is that in the therapeutic massage program, students are given 120 training hours in deep tissue and Trigger Point Release; and the holistic massage programs extends 120 training hours in Polarity Therapy and RYSE (Realizing Your Sublime Energies,  an energy system clearing method).

When in Maine, students interested in pursuing a career in cosmetology, Spa Tech Institute's 1,500-hour cosmetology course provides a three-phase educational program that entails 200 hours of basic training beginning with personal development, bacteriology, profession overview, sanitation and sterilization, and communication skills.  In these initial 200 hours, students acquire essential skills in hair cutting and design, perming, scalp treatments, and shampooing.  The next phase includes 800 hours of advanced clinical training in hair coloring, manicuring, pedicuring, skin care and applicable state laws. The last phase of the cosmetology program is 500 hours of clinical training, in addition to practical and theoretical assignments.  Upon successful completion, graduates of Spa Tech Institute's cosmetology program are eligible to take the State Board examination.

In addition to its in-depth career training programs, Spa Tech Institute provides continuing education in massage, polarity therapy, spa services, science (anatomy and physiology), RYSE, business development and cosmetology teacher training.  Furthermore, financial aid is available for qualified students.

Accredited by NACCAS, Spa Tech Institute's polarity and massage therapy programs meet standard of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) exam, as well as the standards prescribed for registration through the American Polarity Therapy Association (APTA).

Today, you can create the change you want to become, professionally; it begins with appropriate education and training, and it begins with you.  Check into Spa Tech Institute and begin your occupational path as a successful cosmetologist, massage therapist or esthetics technician now.
