However, the truth is that there is no magic formula for motivating students to understand and learn automatically. Every student does not share the same values, interest, desires, wants and needs. So, some students are motivated and while others are having difficulties. In addition, there many factors that are affecting student’s motivation to learn, such as their interest in different subject areas, their self-esteem, their and perception of the benefits in learning such a subject.

Moreover, motivation doesn’t only involve students but it focuses teachers as well.  An effective teacher possesses the ability of motivation and desire in helping students to learn; teachers need to inspire, stimulate and evaluate the learning process of every student. Hence, this would certainly help the students understand, cope with their learning environment and be motivated to learn.

It is necessary to know that students are motivated in one way or another. Some students may be keenly interested in classroom subject discussions and usually earn high marks in school projects and performance; while other students may be more interested attending extracurricular activities and joining some students organizations.

Obviously, not all subject that are learned in school are necessarily interesting to most students, however, these things are very essential for the knowledge development of every student. Thus, it is important for all teachers to enhance intrinsic motivation in the classroom, such as maintaining students’ curiosity in order to arouse their interest; teachers should use a variety of interesting teaching materials or techniques; teachers should encourage students to set up their own goal and expectations in life.

Motivation therefore affects the learning behaviour of every student and it eventually helps the students to increase their efforts and energy. Usually, when people show their best effort, it leads to them further enhancing their performance, which almost definitely leads to greater success in life.
