How to ease exam pressure on kids?

Education is important but when it comes to examinations, most of the children are not able to study well due to stress. Many children are haunted by the name of exams itself.

They start feeling low and stressed out which makes them not to go to school anymore. This exam stress is common worldwide. Parents and teachers should together work on this to avoid any exam stress on the kids. Giving exams without being stressed out increases the numbers scored in the result. Parents and teachers should not pressurize any student for achieving good results. All students have different capabilities to learn and understand. Every student can't achieve above 90%. Maybe they can do something which others are not good at. You just have to identify the student’s interest to groom them more.

GD Goenka Rohtak helps the students to cope up with their exam fear and pressure by motivating them instead of pressurizing them more. They include fun activities in their classes to hype up their student's mood and make them happy releasing the exam pressure. More things you can do to reduce the examination pressure are:

  • Make time table – when exams are approaching, many students are confused about what to do and how to manage the subjects. They are unable to manage the time and get stuck in the middle. You can create a sound time table which can help your students to solve their problems of managing time. You can focus on the subjects that are more time taking and include them in the time table regularly. Make sure you also include the personal time where the students can take a break and do whatever they want. All the time studying can stress them out and it is hard to keep up with that time table. Eating a good meal consisting of all the required nutrients must be encouraged by you as many students do not take proper meal due to the stress. Early sleeping should also be encouraged by you as they require good sleep to overcome their exam stress.

  • Include physical activities and meditation – at the time of exam stress students are always absent-minded and have low self-esteem. To boost up their mood, you should encourage the physical activities in your classes. This helps them to learn in a fun and cheerful way. These physical activities help them to stay away from the fear of examination and they are more interested in going to schools for such learning. Include the meditation classes to keep their mind calm. These classes should be of 30 minutes. This is the best way to fight against their anxiety and provide the energy to study for the rest of the day.

  • Talk to the child and their parents – during these stages talking individually to your students and understanding their problem is very important. Take time and try to solve their problems and help them out where they are lagging. The best way to understand your student more is by talking to their parents. Having a parent-teacher meeting when exams are near can help the students in many ways. You should tell the parents to set the limit score according to the capacity of the child. Parents should not compare the child based on marks and set the limit so high that is nearly impossible to achieve for certain students. Setting a limit pressurizes the students and it can result in bad performance.

  • Show encouraging videos – at the time of stress and students who are facing low esteemFree Web Content, problems should be motivated. Motivation is the thing which can result in wonders. People and students who are motivated tend to perform better as compared to others. Motivating your students by showing those encouraging videos can help them a lot in this phase. These motivational videos help students to bring up their confidence and help them to perform well.
