Ingrid Bergman is one of the most famous and appreciated actresses in world cinematography. In Sweden she is greatly honored till nowadays  and is likely to be one of the famous people of Stockholm.

Her first Oscar Ingrid Bergman attained for Gaslight in 1945. Academy Award for Best Actress she also got in 1957 (Anastasia) and in 1975 (Murder on the Orient Express). Among the others, there were numerous awards of BAFTA, Golden Globe and Emmy, and other prominent and honorary prizes, which underlined her supremacy in cinematography and excellent acting technique. Casablanca is a real highlight in her actress’s career. The movie was released in 1942, but in fact it is highly evaluated even at present, seventy years ago. Ingrid Bergman was a woman of her time.

In 1940s Alfred Hitchcock, a legend among modern Hollywood directors, co-worked with Ingrid Bergman, a legend among modern actors. Precisely, hehas made three films with Bergman - Spellbound (1945), Notorious (1946), Under Capricorn (1949). Particularly successful was her performance in the second of them, where Ingrid has created an interesting image of the daughter of Nazi war criminal, being forced to pay for the sins of the father . However, the actress herself marked as the best own performance in The Bells of St. Mary's (1945).

The actress died in 1982, on her 67th birthday. The last seven years she struggled with cancer, but did not give up on acting. In movies Bergman possessed a unique combination of vulnerability, sensitivity and spiritual strength. Considering her radiant and healthy beauty she was the personification of the feminine.
