KEAM - Kerala Engineering,KEAM - Kerala Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Exam Details  Articles Agriculture and Medical is state level entrance examinations for providing admission to UG courses. This examination gets conducted every year by CEE (Commissioner of Entrance Examination, Kerala) that is why this entrance examination also known as CEE Kerala. This examination organized on various Examination Centres belonging to lots of states such as Dubai (UAE), Mumbai, Ranchi, Shillong, and Delhi. Before applying for this examination, candidates need to make sure that they are eligible for this examination. 

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for KEAM


There are a few criteria that must be met by the candidates who are interested in giving this examination.

  • Only those candidates will be able to apply who are originally from India i.e. candidate should be an Indian citizen.
  • Candidates who are under OCI - Overseas Citizen of India and PIO - Person of Indian Origin they can also apply for this examination but will not be able to get any reservation from Indian govt.
  • Candidates who will apply for this examination, they will be categorized as Keralites, Non-Keralite-1, and Non-Keralite-2.

Keralite

All the candidates who belong to Kerala origin will be considered as a Keralite. All the children of AIS - All India Services will be considered as a Keralite but unfortunately, they are not applicable for any sort of reservation.

Non-Keralite-1

Candidates who come within the Non-Keralite-1 category will be considered in-state merit but they will not be having any right to get any reservation or concession in fee. Candidates who get counted as Non – Keralite 1 are basically those sorts of people who are originally not from Kerala but their parents have been working in any organization within this state for minimum 2 years or else the candidate has studied in this state for continuous 5 years.

Non-Keralite-2

Those candidates who are neither under Keralite nor Non-Keralite-1 come under Non – Keralite- 2.

Age Limit 

To apply for this examination, the candidate must have been at least 17 years old as on 31st 31st December of the year of examination.
There is no upper age limit to apply for this examination.

Educational Qualification: Interested candidate must have passed intermediate from a well – known education board with minimum 50% marks with Maths as the important subject if want to enroll in engineering and architecture and with biology/biotechnology if want to enroll in medical and allied courses. 

Candidate must have got a minimum of 50% marks in total i.e. physics, chemistry, and math as important subjects.

To appear KEAM, candidates need to bring minimum 50% marks, if they belong to the general category and 40% of marks if they belong to SC, ST, and 45% marks are needed for disabled candidates.

How to fill Application Form

You can get the application form online as well as offline mode.  If the candidates wish to apply online then all you have to access the official website.  You will have to register yourself by filling all the required information. Candidates who belong to general category, they are required to give Rs. 1000/- as application fee and Rs. 500/- for the reserved category candidates. All those ST candidates whose family income is below 40000 they do not need to pay any fee for this examination.  The payment can be done via the demand draft.

The pattern of the Examination 

The examination will be scheduled in two papers that is one for engineering and another one for medical.  Each paper will be having a total of 120 questions and there will be five options for each question.  The total marks will be 480 and the examination will be conducted for 2.5 hours. For each correct answer, 4 marks will be given and for each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.

Selection Criteria 

Candidates will be selected on the basis of rank. The rank will be calculated in the 50:50 of marks obtained in the KEAM exam and qualifying exam.

When will KEAM Application available 

  • Starting date of Application form’s sale – first week of January 
  • Online registration will be started – the first week of January 
  • Last date for submitting the application form – the first week of Feb 
  • Deadline for getting the printout of the application – first week of Feb 
  • Admit cards will be uploaded – the third week of March 
  • Date of the written examination – 25th to 28th April 
  • The result will be out on – the third week of  May
  • The rank list and the counseling will be started from - the third week of June
