We are already lacking behind in the new innovations and researches as compared to other developing countries. This effort will only be realized when the institutions will take the research work as of utmost importance.

Without research work, it is impossible to learn and match the technological expertise of the global standards. We are already lacking behind in the new innovations and researches as compared to other developing countries. The government is pitching for increasing the manufacturing growth in the country so as to increase the employment rate and to reduce the heavy import bills. This effort will only be realized when the institutions will take the research work as of utmost importance.

BITS Pilani actively promotes the research and development work in the institution among its students. It not only focuses on the basic researches but also support the applied research. In the institution, students take the research program as an integral component of their academic program itself. The faculties along with the students represent their research papers at various conferences and other platforms.

BITS Pilani not only confine its research exposure to the domestic level, it also encourages students to participate in the international conferences and thereby students networks with experts in India as well as abroad. The institution also helps the students to file the patents for their innovations. It also puts on promotional efforts for research by introducing some research programs.

Recently, BITS Pilani Goa has participated in the 'LIGO-India: The Road Ahead' meet in which the squeezed light will be used in Advanced LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory) to enhance the sensitivity of the detection of the Gravitational waves. The idea is to setup the LIGO in India by 2024.

The institute also provides the infrastructural support to the Research and Development. The research facilities are available for almost all the areas of research. The institution also works on several consultancy projects, especially in the pharma sector. The workshops for students is conducted on the regular basis to give them insights of the applied sciences. Various government departments like Department of Science & Technology and CSIR also give funds to the relevant research projects to the faculties and students of the institution.

It is always beneficial to study in an institution where the research and development are always encouraged. It is because the growth in the future lies in how fast and precise one can innovate to be stable in the highly competitive environment.
