The Many Different Schools

If you are a recent graduate of high school it would be beneficial to talk to a school counselor about what classes you will need to take in order to graduate with a degree in computer science PhD.

Often you can find classes that offer joined MBA Computer Science degrees. These allow you to get both degrees simultaneous, and often show a connection between the two. This speeds up the time it takes to get a second masters degree, and greatly increases the job opportunities of the person taking these classes.

University of California – Los Angeles offers one such program. The John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management and the Department of Computer Science offer the ability to get concurrent MBA Computer Science degrees. UCLA is known for having an outstanding MBA program, and combining that with another in-demand degree is certainly a wise move for anyone who plans to work with computers while using their MBA, or working in business while using what they learned getting a computer science degree.

Carnegie Mellon University also has a MBA Computer Science combination program. Carnegie Mellon's School of Computer Science was originally part of their business school, so it is only fitting that they would offer a combination of the Tepper School of Business and their top-rated School of Computer Science. The program is called the Technology Leadership Track, and emphasizes strategic and management issues relevant to the development and application of cutting-edge software technologies.

Renseelaer at Hartford, a relatively unknown college, offers not only a dual MBA Computer Science, but also an MBA combined with Information Technology or an MBA combined with Engineering. They also offer shorted requirements for credit hours if the person is doing their Dual Technical Masters and M.B.A Degrees.

Saint Xavier University offers yet another MBA Computer Science pairing, this time with a focus on helping those people who want to move into a management-level position in any of the available types of Internet Information Systems.

Bentley University offers a straightforward MBA Computer Science dual degree, giving students a strong combination of broad knowledge as well as deep technical expertise. They further offer several McCallum Graduate School of Business's specialized Master of Science degree programs that can be taken after completing the dual degree, and credits from the dual degree courses may be applied to the further studies.

Boston University does not offer a MBA Computer Science dual-degree, but offers something very similar. They are the only business school that offers a masters degree in Science in Information Systems with an MBA. It does not require an in-depth knowledge of the beneath-the-hood workings of computer systems, but does encourage awareness of the interdependence of business processes and technology.

Employers love to see someone who is trained and both business and technologies, and an MBA Computer Science dual degree prove just that. In addition to showing a broad span of knowledge, it shows a great depth as well as an exceeding ability to work under strenuous conditions and stay dedicated to the pursuit of a project. While attempting to do two masters degrees simultaneously is a very difficult task, it will most likely prove to be more than worth the extended effort when the end result comes in, both in work assignments and the size of the paycheck. For all these reasons, pursuing a dual degree MBA Computer Science Masters is certainly something I would recommend anyone strive for if they wish to work with computer systems in a business manner.
