Becoming a first aid instructor is quick, easy, and affordable. These fantastic courses could make a huge difference to your staff, customers or clients.

Providing first aid training to your staff in the workplace is an important role of management,There is No Better Time to Become a First Aid Instructor Articles but is so often overlooked. It is a life skill that reaps huge rewards and may even mean the difference between life and death. In certain types of work first aid training is imperative, such as working with children, members of the public, or families, and it is crucial for all staff members to have training. In other office-based jobs, it is also important to have at least one member of staff who is able to provide first aid.

Our First Aid Instructor Training Course is a train the trainer programme designed for those who want to provide first aid training to their staff, customers or clients but do not currently have sufficient experience in the field. Initial instructor training is provided to enable delivery of WorkSafe Basic Life Support, Emergency First Aid and Paediatric and Early Years First Aid. HSE approved First Aid at Work Instructor/Assessor qualification is available via the FAW Instructor Upgrade Programme subject to minimum entry criteria being met. 

The First Aid Instructor Training Programme is designed to build on an instructors existing knowledge and provide further in-depth knowledge and information on a wide range of related subjects. Practical demonstrations and lots of hands on experience make the programme interactive with example scenarios and teaching sessions taking place.

All First Aid Instructor Courses will be conducted by a member of  the Instructor Approvals team, all of whom have many years experience in the field. The course syllabus includes plenty of time to consolidate skills and ensure instructors complete the course feeling confident in being able to deliver student level training to their client group. Additional time is available for further skill development where required.

On successful completion of the First Aid Instructor Training Programme you will be able to deliver the following training programmes:

  • Basic Life Support
  • Emergency First Aid including the new HSE approved Emergency First Aid at Work programme
  • Paediatric and Early Years First Aid
  • Paediatric Emergency First Aid

Following completion of the First Aid Instructor Course the instructors action plan will be annotated and the newly approved instructor will be required to undertake an initial approval moderation visit that will be conducted during one of the first six programmes delivered by the newly qualified instructor.
