NOT TO DO
Do not take for granted the word count while writing. Following the general structure of dissertation described, remember to keep in view the word count limit provided by your University while writing the dissertation students sometimes, get carried away and when you come to write conclusion there are not much of words left to write it properly. Therefore, keep in view as to how long each section should be to avoid the trouble.

DO
While writing the dissertation, especially the literature review, as you read each reference, make sure to summarize it and group it by theme and keep referencing your work just as you go as without referencing your work will not seem legit and can even fall into plagiarism.

NOT TO DO
Do not use the phrases like,
• Due to the fact that
• In addition
• In order to
• In the first place
• A considerable number
• Whether or not
Etc.

DO
The best way is to remember “Simplicity is the best policy”, and make sure to keep in mind a simple golden rule K.I.S.S i.e. Keep It Simple Stupid. While avoiding the above-mentioned phrases, make sure you use instead,
• Because
• Additionally (or also)
• To
• First
• Many
• Whether

NOT TO DO
Do not in any case “Plagiarise”. Plagiarism means copy and pasting someone else work. If you like some idea and want to adapt it in your work make sure you summarize it and use your own words or thoughts while adding it to your dissertation.

DO
If for any reason you think that you should copy paste a sentence from any other journal than make sure to put it in quotation marks with the source, to make sure that they are direct quotes and need to be acknowledged in that way. However, remember that you could not copy paste full paragraphs or even whole journal and put it in quotation marks.

CONCLUSION
These are some of the important things that you should avoid doing padded with what you should do instead. Keep in mind, the “not to do’s” are just as important as the “do’s” are and you should never take them for less importance.
