University of Southampton degrees in geophysics win 100% student satisfaction

Students on degrees in geophysics at the University of Southampton have given their courses an incredible 100% positive feedback in a recent National Student Survey.

Dr Ian Harding,University of Southampton degrees in geophysics win 100% student satisfaction Articles Senior Lecturer in Palaeontology and Programme Admissions Tutor for Ocean and Earth Science said: "This result is a terrific acknowledgement of the high esteem in which our students view the degrees in geophysics offered by Ocean and Earth Science at Southampton.”

Furthermore, students on degrees in geophysics were not the only ones to report maximum satisfaction with their courses – geology degree students did the same.

The results show that Southampton’s model of research led learning in a high-tech environment is a big hit with students on both geophysics degrees and geology degrees.

Two students studying for degrees in geophysics rated their experiences University’s website.

Daniel N. Drummond, who is studying the MSci degree in Geophysics, said: “The University of Southampton attracted me because it offered a course not available at most other universities: geophysics. Other attractions included the coastal setting, good weather and the mixture of a campus and city university.

“I am currently returning from a year abroad at Penn State University in the US. The year has been full of countless great experiences and I would recommend it to anyone.” He added.

Nathan Payne, who is also studying the MSci degree in geophysics, said: “One open day visit to the University of Southampton was the only persuasion I needed to take up a degree in Geophysics. I was instantly impressed by the facilities available to me as a prospective student.”

“The highlight of my degree was taking part in the 2011 AAPG Imperial Barrel Awards with 4 of my course mates.” He added.
