What is translation and why should it be done by a professional native translatorAlso, chances are that if the translator is not a native speaker of the language in which the text is being translated, then he will not be able to see the shortcomings of the final text which, nevertheless, the audience would , suffer from the inadequacy of being able to understand and appreciate the puns, style effects and cultural vagaries of the source text. The objective of translation is to pass on the understanding of a text to people in their own language and re-create the same impact as the original text. It intends to reproduce the content of the original text for a native audience. This, in turn, implies that the person responsible for the translation should be able to understand and replicate the nuances of the original text to its target audience.
Also, chances are that if the translator is not a native speaker of the language in which the text is being translated, then he will not be able to see the shortcomings of the final text which, nevertheless, the audience would end up noticing, thereby creating a negative impression about the final translated text and the credibility of the content that it intends to communicate.
