Create a Custom Email Address

Have you thought about getting a custom email address? These days there are so many ways we can be in contact with our family and friends. You can call them on their landline, their mobile phone, connect with them on Facebook or Twitter and of course send them an email.

The problem with all these modes of communication is the mechanisms by which we actually make the connection. This involves remembering numbers, area codes, passwords and email addresses, most of which don’t have any useful memory triggers included with them.

You can now customize your email address so that your family, friends and colleagues will never forget it. You’ll no longer have to rely on people having your address in their contact books and lists. You don’t even have to be creative, you can just be obvious.

Custom email addresses allow you to express a bit of your personality in a digitized cyber world. After all, communication is still about two or more people making a meaningful connection. One of the most important elements of that connection is that it is memorable. How many different emails can you actually remember off the top of your head? The answer is probably no more than about seven. The ones you do remember are probably really obvious like Dave@home.com or they have a bit of personality injected into them like Sandra@bikeychick.com.

Your personality shouldn’t be left out of your email address, after all every aspect of our communication should be about making an impression and a connection.

You are going to meet a lot of like minded people and the reality is you will probably want to keep in contact with at least a few of them. Custom email addresses are an easy way to have a bit of fun with cyber communication. But they also play an important part in expressing our personality through our hobbies, dreams and career. If you want to make an impression on people, be remembered, or just give someone a little chuckle every time they think of you, then take a couple of minutes to create your own custom email address - it can say a lot more about you than your street address.
